Outside Reading Post

I read an article in the paper this morning about a new kind of surgery. It's using a device that can operate on someone with out any incisions. It's a device that enters the body through a natural opening to preform the surgery. Next year they plan on using this device to remove gallbladders. This new invention could be an extraordinary advancement in medical technology. It could change many ways of medicine, and save many lives. It's great to think that even after all these advancements in technology, they are still improving all there technology.

Outside Reading Post # 10

I read an article in the paper today about the new twilight movie. They were comparing Twilight to the famous Harry Potter. A question they asked Stephanie Meyer about her book was "What is the appeal of her dark vampire tales?". She said that vampires are a type of monster type creature that doesn't look disgusting. That can disguise themselves as normal people. They aren't creepy. They said that the movie set was packed with twilight fans, even in the summer when they were shooting in California, in the middle of a desert! Patterson, the director thought it was strange how they even found the set! New Moon, the books sequel, is already in the making of a second movie. The Twilight movie comes out this Friday.

Outside Reading Post # 9

I recently picked up the book New Moon again and continued reading it, since I had stopped earlier in the year. I had forgotten how good it was. When I left off it was Bella's 18th birthday and the party the Cullens threw her had gone terribly wrong. After, Edward spends the night at Bella's house. He gives her a CD he made. She loves it. She was really fussy about people making a big deal for her birthday. What she really wants is to become a vampire like Edward, but he won't let that happen. Not yet at least. In this part of the book there seems to be something wrong with Edward. It doesn't say what, but he is acting differently. Bella is worried that he is thinking about the "right and wrong". I'm not exactly sure what that means either but it might have something to do with Bella wanting to be a vampire or the dangers of him and his family being vampires.
